What is Hypnoptherapy and how can it help me?

Hypnotherapy can help you to release and transform those feelings, reactions and habits which you would rather not experience, and make the positive changes you wish to see if your life.

Hypnotherapy utilizes hypnosis, a naturally occurring state of focused awareness in which you can communicate with your subconscious mind.

Your subconscious is the deeper part of your mind, and it stores all your memories, emotions and habit patterns created throughout your life.

This is the part of your mind that instantly brings you into the reaction of feeling anxious or perhaps angry towards a certain person or in a certain situation without your consciously knowing why, it is working on old programming formed in the past, often during childhood.

The early programming of your subconscious mind is a necessary part of human development and in most instances is very helpful but during situations of stress, trauma or intense emotional experiences it can store incorrect and unhelpful information.

Hypnotherapy works by utilising the state of hypnosis to open the gates of communication into your subconscious mind so that your Hypnotherapist can help and support you to gently find the roots of your anxieties and remove the causes.

Your Hypnotherapist will also assist you with establishing more positive and supportive feelings, thoughts and behaviour patterns which reflect the person you really are and the life you wish to live.

The Two Minds

Our minds are composed of two areas – the conscious and the subconscious.

The conscious mind is the part of the mind we use most in normal everyday life, it is our thinking and logical mind and we like to think that this part of our mind is in charge of how we conduct our life experiences.

However, it is really the deeper part of the mind, the subconscious, that is really in charge. This part of our mind stores all our memories, emotions and habit patterns created throughout your life.

Hypnotherapy work with the deeper part of the mind and that is why it is such a quick and effective way to help you to make the positive changes you wish to see in your life.
